Prophecies - a Steampunk Masterpiece from a Digital Camera

Nicholas Kahn & Richard Selesnick: The Apollo Prophecies - This inventive book is only two photographs, one page printed with a single image on each sides. One 17 foot long panoramic photograph on each side, that is.

A darkly funny story unfolds as you take the image in from left to right. Prophecies sucks you into Kahn & Selsnicks Steampunk alternate history to a time in the 20’s when man first landed on the moon. These images were taken with a digital SLR and painstakingly assembled to create a new twist on the panoramic photograph. The making of these images is featured in one of my favorite episodes of Gallery HD’s series Art in Progress. You can read about it in my article: High Def Photography.
